Nomination Forms

Induction Criteria

Any individual, living or deceased, who has pioneered and/or uniquely helped the world’s paper industry flourish, is eligible for induction into the Paper Industry International Hall of Fame. Recognition will be based on contributions in the following categories: Academics; Economics; Entrepreneur; Founder; Leadership; Marketing/Sales; Research and Development; Service; and Technology.

See below for a full explanation of the Nominating Process.

Nominating Process

Nominations for induction into the Paper Industry International Hall of Fame are to be submitted to the Honors Committee of the Board of Directors on an official nomination form. Nominations may not be submitted by any current members of the Paper Industry International Hall of Fame Board of Directors or Honors Committee.

Multiple nominations of any candidate by several groups or individuals are strongly discouraged, since only two sponsors per candidate are needed to assure the nomination’s full and careful consideration.

It is not necessary to re-nominate a candidate each year, since the Honors Committee carries forward the names of those nominees not selected. After five years, however, the nomination must be reactivated and brought up to date, or it will be dropped.

Candidates may be nominated at any time during the year, but the formal ceremony to honor inductees will be held once a year.

Sponsors may obtain the Official Nomination Papers directly from the Paper Industry International Hall of Fame or download them from our website. However, hard copies must be submitted by March 31 to the below address for consideration:

Paper Industry International Hall of Fame, Inc.
425 W. Water Street

Selection

The Honors Committee will consider all valid nominations and submit its recommendations to the Paper Industry International Hall of Fame (PIIHF) Board of Directors. These recommendations will be reviewed by the PIIHF Board and final selections made at least three months prior to the Annual Banquet and Induction Ceremony. The Board of Directors shall consider only nominees proposed by the Honors Committee.

The Board may, by a vote of two-thirds of the members present at a regular or special meeting, induct a candidate(s) recommended by the Honors Committee into the Paper Industry International Hall of Fame. The Board’s decision will be final.

Candidates may be selected at any time during the year, but the formal ceremony to honor inductees will be held once a year. The Board of Directors of the Paper Industry International Hall of Fame may determine that more than one individual will be inducted in any given year, or perhaps that no one will be inducted.

Announcement

The selected inductee will be notified as soon as possible after the Board’s decision. Public announcement of all inductees will follow.

Presentation

The inductee will be presented with a lasting memento at the Annual Banquet and Induction Ceremony. The recipient will publicly acknowledge with appropriate remarks.

If the recipient is unable to attend the presentation ceremony, for some reason of health or other extenuating circumstance, the award may be received and acknowledged by an appropriate representative on the inductee’s behalf.
