The quality control testing laboratory is usually built into or adjacent to the actual paper mill. The female lab technician is testing paper in the constant temperature/humidity room. In the main laboratory, the male paper chemists are analyzing paper and other papermaking materials. A microbalance, tear tester, various distillation columns, and other devices are shown. Every roll of paper is tested to make sure it remains consistent with the specs of a particular product line.
